Tunable, high-repetition-rate, harmonically mode-locked ytterbium fiber laser.
We report a ytterbium fiber laser mode locked at its 281st harmonic, which corresponds to a repetition rate greater than 10 GHz. The laser produces linearly polarized, 2-ps pulses with up to 38-mW of average output power. The mode-locked pulses are tunable over a 58-nm window centered on 1053 nm.
متن کاملGraphene-based passively mode-locked bidirectional fiber ring laser.
We present an all-fiber bidirectional passively mode-locked soliton laser with a graphene-based saturable absorber for the first time to the best of our knowledge. Our design includes a four-port circulator to introduce different sections of cavity for the two counter-propagating pulses, so they have distinct output characteristics. Simultaneous bidirectional operation is achieved by appropriat...
متن کاملMulti-GHz tunable-repetition-rate mode-locked Nd:GdVO4 laser.
We report on a simple design for a multi-GHz tunable-repetition-rate diode-pumped picosecond laser. Using a plano-Brewster Nd:GdVO4 crystal in a V-folded cavity employing only readily available commercial components, we achieved passive mode-locking with 4.4-ps pulses tunable in the range 2.5-2.7 GHz. This laser is meant to be employed in the MIR experiment that aims at the detection of the Sch...
متن کاملA Tunable, High-repetition-rate, Harmonically Mode-locked, Ytterbium Fiber Laser
36 LLE Review, Volume 97 Fiber laser and amplifier development in the wavelength region near 1 μm has experienced significant progress owing to the exceptional efficiency and gain bandwidth of ytterbiumdoped fibers.15 In fact, both ytterbium fiber lasers and amplifiers are becoming more attractive than their bulk counterparts due to their confined spatial mode, impressive bandwidth, good pump ...
متن کاملWavelength-tunable, passively mode-locked fiber laser based on graphene and chirped fiber Bragg grating.
We demonstrate a wavelength-tunable, passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser based on graphene and chirped fiber Bragg grating. The saturable absorber used to enable passive mode-locking in the fiber laser is a section of microfiber covered by graphene film, which allows light-graphene interaction via the evanescent field of the microfiber. The wavelength of the laser can be continuously...
